The Holy Spirit is like Velcro to us! Always with us, always coming along for the ride. But instead of us providing comfort, the Holy Spirit provides comfort to us. The Holy Spirit is God within us, closer than our very breath. God’s living Spirit living inside us. Join us as we look at how our theology of the Holy Spirit informs our understanding of God, reveals the ways God is ever-present in our lives, and compels us to proclaim in word and deed the good news of Jesus.
Each time God created, God declared that creation “good.” But we are bombarded with messages that we are anything but good. Social media is designed to send us spiraling into comparison, making us feel like we cannot measure up. So, it may surprise us to find that when God creates human beings in Genesis 1, God says three things about us: 1. We are created in God’s image. 2. We are blessed. 3. We are very good. Join us as we come to understand the foundation of who we are.
Getting to our broken places and mending what is broken is challenging! Examining our lives with honesty can also be challenging. Or we avoid it altogether. Allowing God into those nooks and crannies of our lives that even we prefer to avoid is even harder! We invite you to join us in vulnerability and prayer as we allow God to convict us of the ways our profession of faith does not match our outward life.
We are led to connect with God and to connect with others. Faith practiced alone in a vacuum becomes like an unhealthy feedback loop! With no one to challenge us, no one to serve, or no one to witness God’s image outside of ourselves, we become our own echo chamber. How do we know? Join us to change some of the “me moments” to “we moments” and to demonstrate God’s love to each other and the world.
